Microsoft is looking to initiate a hip advertising campaign featuring Jerry Seinfeld to hype the company’s image and its powerful Windows Vista technology. This campaign will counter Apple’s “Mac vs. PC” ads that have fueled the negative perceptions of Windows Vista.
“They are not seen as cool, Apple is cool. Can anyone even recall a Microsoft ad? No,” says Robert Passikoff, President of Brand Keys, a New York branding firm.
Can Jerry Seinfeld improve Microsoft’s brand equity? Or will it be as boring as the American Express ads?
